We understand the potential the Poughkeepsie area has because we've been here our whole lives. 

We ran through the lush greenery of Poughkeepsie's natural lanscape. We climbed it, and often we fell. We marvelled at the force of the river. We combed through the ruins of manufacturing wings and abandoned homes. We rode our bikes through the woods and the neighborhoods; to the pier; to the Psych center at night on a dare.

 

We were in part formed by the landscape, and in a somewhat larger part by the community we found within. We were born with a drive to create. To show how we felt and what we thought. To do it in an interesting way, using things more developed than simple speech. We expanded, and we began to produce. It is a drive, more so than anything. We couldn't help but do; and, in doing, we found ways to share the process and the product.

And now, thanks largely to the work of ____Ty_____, we are able to expand once more, beyond the confines of comfort and acquaintance. 358 Gallery has opened the figurative doors and windows and helped facilitate the foundation of PoMeCo. We are now established, and we are working to establish our hometown as the Creativity Haven we know it has the potential to become. All media are welcome and encouraged.
